At the outset, I extend my hearty greetings to you all and your family members.
It is quite heartening to note that the COVID-19 pandemic appears to have been abated considerably in the country. Though there have been apprehensions about the third wave, there seems to be no sign of the pandemic during the last few days. It is a matter of pride to all of us that our country has completed vaccination of the 100 crores eligible populace, which has establish the fact that India is the 1st country in the globe to have accomplished this task. Vaccination of the children is also round the corner, as many candidates are in the process of approval. In this background, we can safely expect that the dark days of the pandemic are behind us.
I am indeed very happy to note that notwithstanding the pandemic for more than one and half years in the country and consequently the lock down measures implemented in many parts, revival of the economy is very much in sight. Much of the stringent lockdown measures are now lifted in the country and normalcy is expected to be restored in the present festive season. I, however, exhort all of you to strictly adhere to the COVID norms like usage of mask, social distancing, sanitization etc., notwithstanding having got double vaccination to arrest its spread.
I am equally happy to note that many of our own members have done exceedingly well despite the hardships and breakdown of operations due to pandemic. This is quite evidently amplified from the encouraging number of applications received from our member units for awards consideration. I am sanguine all our members would be able to do better in the coming days of the current fiscal showing an appreciable progress before its ending.
On the Association front, I am happy that the second part of the webinar on 'Safety measures for the colorant industry' was also organized on 20th August 2021.I trust, the presentations of the expert speakers during the webinar might have been very much useful to the participants in their daily operations.
DMAI also jointly with Finrex Treasury Advisors LLP organized a webinar on 'RBI Master Direction for Export of Goods and Services' 21st October 2021 for its members. Mr.Nijay Gupta, Chief Mentor and Mr. Chintan Master made useful presentation to the participants on forex, which I am sure will be very much beneficial to them to boost the exports.
Further, many vital issues concerning the colorant industry like Deep sea discharge norms, exclusion of organic chemicals covering dye intermediates from the scheme guidelines and Rates of Remission of Duties and Taxes on Export products, price stability on basic raw materials etc. were taken up with DCPC and other regulatory authorities for necessary redressal. I am confident that solution to the burning issues will be forthcoming.
I am also happy to state that my regular interactive meetings with senior officials of DCPC and other Government Agencies to sort out the various issues connected with the colorant industry are convened. I am very much thankful to them for their prompt support and proactive approach in resolving such cases.
In the festive season ahead I wish you and your family A Very Happy Diwali and Prosperous New Year.
